The Silence of Water

Even though things echo in water I still find silence within it when there is no one else around. I have never been one of those people who refuses to go under water while swimming, today I tried to accomplish that goal since I had an appointment to go to and I didn’t want to get my hair wet, but I couldn’t. I felt the need to go under water. Saying it is a “need” is the right word. I have always been that way, I need to go underwater. Being underwater is a calming experience for me. All the sounds of the outside world can be hidden and with my eyes closed all  that surrounds me is the sensation of being in the water, almost as if I am consumed by the water. I think that is why I enjoy swimming so much, in a way it is a freeing and meditative experience. It is peaceful.
