I Survived Tuesday

Today was an all right day. I didn’t get as much sleep as I would have liked to have gotten, but at least I am now sleeping through the night. I still woke up this morning around 5:00 AM, which isn’t pleasant but it wasn’t too bad since I didn’t wake up at 2:00 AM. I have gone almost an entire week without waking up in the middle of the night.  I think it is a combination of the cutting back on coffee as well as less anxiety. I really don’t have lots of worries right now so that is probably affecting my sleep.

It was a long day though. Seven meetings today and to actually get work done I had to go into work at 6:30 and I left at 4:00 while working through lunch. Luckily the rest of my week is less busy. I made a conscious decision last week that I was going to try to be more positive at work instead of having negative reactions. It seems to be going ok. I am able to detach myself from people’s negativity and try to help them focus on the issues at hand.

I also had my mid-year review today, which was basically just an overview of tasks I need to work on. The bonus of that is that there are classes that I can take starting in September. There are about three classes that I am interested in taking, but I am not sure if I will do all of them this Fall.

To wrap up the day I went to the gym. I was feeling a little low in energy today but I pushed myself to go. I didn’t run, I just walked for around a half hour on an incline. I think that should still be good. My aim is to get back in the habit of going three times a week and really get running. I am sure by this weekend I will feel up for running again.

After my long day, I fell asleep in the bathtub. Really no surprise. Bathtub napping is the best!
