The other day I was having a conversation and I was called idealistic because I believe that the world can change for the better. That comment by itself seems a bit far fetched, since we live in a world of conflict. A world that seems to bend to the needs of the corporations before meeting the needs of the communities. I see all that, yet I don’t understand the need to think that this is just the way the world is and there is no point in trying to change it.
Each individual we interact with is the reason to try. I have hope that even if I make a small positive difference in someone’s life, they will in turn do the same for another person. I believe one individual has the power to influence many, even if it is one at a time. Maybe that kindness will spread to five people then ten and then from there to an entire community. I still believe there is good in humanity and we have the power to spread it.
