Details, details

I used to be one of those people who made plans for the day and beat myself up when one part of the plan fell through. Now, I realize the optimal solution is not to plan. For me, not planning means not getting worked up over the details. Why be stressed? After planning numerous events where things didn’t go as I envisioned, I realized that all my energy was being drained away because I obsessed over the parts of the plan that fell through. The positives should have been my focus.

Planning a wedding has helped me learn how not to get worked up over the details. From letting my maid of honor pick out whatever style of dress she liked to picking a corseted dress so that no matter the fluctuation in weight it would still fit.

This year has been about settling my mind. Slowly it is happening.

Time is too precious to waste going crazy over the details.
